Welcome

Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA)

The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), a governmental entity, was established by Egypt’s e-signature Law No.15 2004 and delegates ITIDA to be responsible for setting its executive directives, enforcing the law and encouraging the development of the IT industry and increasing exports.

Attracting foreign direct investments to the IT industry and maximizing the exports of IT services and applications are the primary goals embraced by ITIDA to position Egypt as the main hub for the region’s information society.

ITIDA assumes the roles of both a regulator and a developer. On the one hand, it regulates the use of electronic signatures, the enforcement of the e-signature law and the protection of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) of the software industry and database applications. On the other hand, ITIDA is passionately committed to its role as an IT industry developer.

In order to stimulate the IT local market and respond to a fast changing global industry, ITIDA adopts a flat, lean, dynamic structure, adheres to the utilization of the public-private partnership model and resorts to regional and international co-operation whenever possible.

ITIDA is a self-sustainable entity that drives the IT industry in Egypt and raises awareness among the Egyptian people of the benefits and use of ICT to advance socio-economic welfare of the whole community.

ITIDA is affiliated to Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. ITIDA’s offices are physically located right in the heart of the ICT business environment at Smart Village, the new three hundred acre business park on the outskirts of Cairo.

Smart Village provides state of the art facilities to organizations depending on ICT to deliver value. Government, technology suppliers, service providers and firms operating in sectors with extensive IT demands are all residents. ITIDA has the following aims:
